Report: WWE NXT Hierarchy Changes
The power structure at WWE NXT has changed drastically
Jan 12, 2022
Reports have come in stating what WWE NXT’s hierarchy looks like following the layoffs to backstage staff last week.
The report, via PWInsider, states that NXT will be following a power structure similar to that of WWE RAW and SmackDown, with NXT Creative reporting directly to Bruce Prichard and Christine Lubrano. This seemingly brings NXT in line with the rest of WWE, far from the days when the ‘black and gold’ brand felt almost independent of the WWE.
Prichard’s name will be familiar to most, but Lubrano may not be. Currently serving as WWE’s SVP of Creative Writing Operations, Lubrano joined the company in February 2021, having previously worked for IFC, with producer credits on shows such as Portlandia, Maron, and The Onion News Network.
The NXT writing team will now be head up by Johnny Russo (no relation to Vince Russo) working under Prichard and Lubrano’s supervision. Russo has been with WWE since 2011, and has been with NXT since 2019, becoming lead writer in July 2020.
PWInsider also confirmed that Dewey Foley and Anthony Golden Jr. remain part of NXT Creative.
