Report: WWE May Hold SmackDown GM Vs. Raw GM Match 'Down The Line'
No current WWE plans for Nick Aldis vs. Adam Pearce
Mar 20, 2024
Two former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champions may eventually go one-on-one on WWE TV.
Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce have been butting heads ever since Aldis made his WWE debut and was appointed General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown in October 2023. Adam Pearce had previously been the WWE official on both brands but he became just the General Manager of Monday Night Raw as part of Aldis' debut.
Both GMs have often appeared on the other's show, however, and they have had several conflicts over angles and talent acquisitions for their respective brands.
As of now, the disagreements between Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce isn't planned to lead to a match but it may happen "down the line", according to Aaron Varble of SEScoops.
Varble tweeted: "There are still no current plans for Nick Aldis vs Adam Pearce. Yes, a match with two former NWA World Champions who are now GMs could be a f*cking banger, especially with Triple H in control. Maybe down the line... Oh, that 'maybe down the line' is what I was told. No current plan though."
Adam Pearce has largely been retired as an in-ring talent since 2014. He did have two matches in 2021, technically winning a Gauntlet Match to earn a Universal Title shot at the Royal Rumble. This actually led to Roman Reigns vs. Adam Pearce being briefly advertised for the Royal Rumble before Kevin Owens stepped in to replace Pearce. The five-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion then teamed with Braun Strowman in a three-minute loss to The Hurt Business on the March 1, 2021 episode of Raw.
Nick Aldis, meanwhile, is a two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and he was the National Wrestling Alliance's top star until he exited the promotion at the end of 2022. Aldis then had a brief run in TNA which saw him main event Slammiversary before he left the company.
