Report: WWE Finished Putting Together Last Night's Episode Of NXT Just Before It Went On The Air

WWE has been forced to make several changes to its flagship programming because of the coronavirus pandemic. Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown and NXT will be broadcast from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida for the foreseeable future, WrestleMania 36 will be held over two days on April 4 and 5, and NXT TakeOver: Tampa has been cancelled.

With no big show to build towards, the black and gold brand is somewhat in limbo, which was reflected in last night's episode of NXT. The show included no live matches, and instead provided an in-depth recap of Johnny Gargano's and Tommaso Ciampa's rivalry, a character profile on Finn Balor, and a look at Rhea Ripley's match at The Showcase Of The Immortals with Charlotte Flair.

Interspersed between the recaps were wrap-around segments from Triple H and Tom Phillips, which came across as odd to many as they consistently referred to WrestleMania still being a one-day event.

Mike Johnson at PWInsider reported their mistake came about because The Game's and Phillips' segments were filmed at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut yesterday before Mania was changed. WWE's production team also seemingly struggled to put the episode together as Johnson revealed finishing the show "went down to the wire" and was only completed just before it went on the air.
