Jay White’s run in New Japan seems to be over, after the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion lost a Loser Leaves NJPW match to Eddie Kingston at NJPW Battle in the Valley.

Now a free agent, White’s value is tremendously high, and ‘King Switch’ has been routinely linked with both WWE and AEW. However, per a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE are seemingly favourites to sign the Bullet Club leader:

“Nobody in WWE has confirmed Jay White coming in, but they are certainly the favourite. One would think if White was going to AEW, he’d be able to work big shows with New Japan and would continue to do so, but they wouldn’t do the loser leaves for good stipulation,” said Meltzer.

An earlier report suggested that WWE have discussed White and have began drafting creative ideas for ‘The Switchblade’ should he join the company.

If White does end up in WWE then he’ll be the fourth Bullet Club leader to join the company, following in the footsteps of Finn Balor (Prince Devitt), Karl Anderson, and AJ Styles.
