Drew Gulak

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet reported Saturday night that Drew Gulak had been released from WWE. Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed Gulak's exit, saying that Gulak's contract was either coming due, or had already expired, and had chosen not to re-sign with WWE.

WWE themselves have not posted notice of his Gulak's exit as of press time.

Gulak's WWE.com profile was moved to the company's Alumni section sometime on Saturday, which led to the initial speculation.

Gulak lost to Daniel Bryan last night in the quarterfinal round of the tournament to crown a new Intercontinental champion. The two shook hands after the match, and Gulak was still tweeting about Bryan in a seemingly in-character fashion hours before word of his release broke. In recent months, Gulak feuded with Bryan, before forming an alliance with him.

After joining WWE in 2016, Gulak mostly wrestled in the promotion's Cruiserweight division. He held the Cruiserweight title for three and a half months in 2019, after defeating Tony Nese and Akira Tozawa in a triple threat match on the Stomping Grounds pre-show.
