The match has yet to be officially announced but reports have noted that Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Sami Zayn in the main event of Elimination Chamber on February 18. The show is scheduled to take place in Montreal, very close to Zayn's hometown of Laval, Quebec, Canada.

While many fans are hoping that Zayn will win the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the pay-per-view, that "absolutely was not in the plans as of last week", according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. WWE have announced that Cody Rhodes will challenge Roman Reigns for WWE's top title at WrestleMania 39.

Zayn was previously a part of The Bloodline but he turned on Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 28. Reigns repeatedly goaded Zayn to hit Kevin Owens with a steel chair while KO was handcuffed to the ropes following the main event. Sami ultimately couldn't take it any more and he decked Reigns from behind with a chair, calling back to Seth Rollins' betrayal of the Shield.

The Bloodline then beat down Zayn with the exception of Jey Uso, who walked out and has seemingly quit the faction.
