Much has been made of Charlotte Flair's return to SmackDown on the December 30, 2022 edition of the show.

The Queen appeared on WWE television for the first time since dropping the SmackDown Women's Championship to Ronda Rousey in an "I Quit" Match at WrestleMania Backlash on May 8.

Confronting Rousey following her successful defence of the title against Raquel Rodriguez, Flair challenged her to a match and quickly beat her to bag a WWE women's title for the 14th time.

A new report has shed some light on WWE's plans for the pair moving forward, with PWInsider noting that Charlotte is listed internally as a babyface on the SmackDown roster.

In response to speculation surrounding Ronda's WWE future, the report stressed that the loss wasn't designed to write her off television. On the contrary, there are plans for the Baddest Woman on the Planet going forward, including at the Royal Rumble on January 28.

Rousey will not be taking a break from in-ring action and is advertised for upcoming events. According to PWInsider's source, she is very much still 'in the mix'.
