After the Warner Bros. Discovery merger was formally completed in 2022, speculation amongst wrestling fans arose concerning the future of All Elite Wrestling across the network.

Reports had emerged suggesting Warner Bros. Discovery were happy with the AEW product and were pushing to create new shows surrounding the IP, such as the behind-the-scenes reality show which recently started production. Now a new report from Fightful Select has potentially shed more light on the relationship between the two sides.

A source from Warner Bros. Discovery spoke to Fightful, suggesting that they’d be surprised if AEW weren’t offered a new television deal with a significant rise in their rights fees. The source continued, noting that 2022 has been a good year for televised wrestling in general, due to a renewed interest in the sport making 2022 a ‘rebound year’, coming at a great time for both AEW and WWE who are both soon to start negotiations over new television deals.

The report also spoke of the collaborative nature between Warner Bros. Discovery and AEW, with both sides open to input from one another.
