Report: Tamina & Natalya Didn't Know About WWE Draft Split
They had no idea
Oct 5, 2021
WWE's 2021 Draft came to an end last night following Raw Talk and the company decided to ravage their own women's tag team division.
The division had already lost several teams in 2021 due to roster cuts and WWE split up two of the remaining teams during Raw Talk as Natalya and Tamina were drafted by different brands, as were Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart.
Natalya and Tamina unsuccessfully challenged Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H for the Women's Tag Team Championship earlier in the evening on Raw, and according to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, neither woman knew they were going to be split up.
"Natalya and Tamina split up tonight, although they didn't know it. But they, in fact, did," Meltzer said.
Tamina and Natalya had been teaming together full-time since February 2021 and they quickly cemented themselves as one of the top teams in the division, winning the Women's Tag Team Title from Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax in May. The two veterans would hold the gold for 129 days before dropping the belts to current champions Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H.
