Report: Shane McMahon Reaches Out To AEW Wrestlers About Joining The Company

Could Shane McMahon actually join All Elite Wrestling?

AEW's Jim Ross discussed the prospect of McMahon showing up in the promotion on a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, noting the idea was "so crazy that it might work." In an update, however, Ross' co-host Conrad Thompson has revealed that he received a text from a friend who claimed Shane McMahon has actually reached out to AEW talents about hypothetically joining the promotion.

"There was a friend of ours. He went out of his way to text me, 'Hey, that's not as crazy as you think. I know for sure that Shane McMahon has reached out to wrestlers on the AEW roster to at least hypothetically discuss the idea,'' Thompson said on Grilling JR.

If talk of Shane McMahon joining the company has gone beyond a few texts about hypothetical scenarios is unknown. The 54-year-old hasn't appeared on any pro wrestling programming since he suffered a torn quadriceps in an impromptu match against The Miz at 2023's WrestleMania 39.

WWE has undergone massive changes since then through the merger with UFC, Triple H's reinstallment as head of creative, and Vince McMahon's forced resignation as TKO Executive Chairman, making Shane's future with the company unknown. WWE executive Bruce Prichard didn't rule out Shane returning to WWE in November 2023, though.
