WWE held a Gauntlet Match to crown new number-one contenders for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on the June 16 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Pretty Deadly would ultimately win the match and they will face Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the gold on the go-home edition of SmackDown before Money in the Bank.

Hit Row were featured in the Gauntlet Match but they didn't last very long at all, with Top Dolla eating a Brogue Kick from Sheamus to be eliminated in under 10 seconds. This prompted a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio to suggest Top Dolla had heat in WWE and his eight-second loss was "like the burial of all burials."

In an update, however, Fightful Select has reported that WWE higher-ups told them that while there are no significant creative plans for Hit Row, there is nothing out of the ordinary in how they are viewed by management. Instead, a WWE source close to creative noted that Hit Row and others were brought back to the company to provide depth and stop rematch-heavy shows from being put together, which had become common during the final years of Vince McMahon's first run at the top of creative.

Hit Row have been back in WWE since August 2022, being brought back to the company shortly after Triple H was appointed Chief Content Officer. Beyond Top Dolla, the faction includes Ashante "Thee" Adonis and B-Fab.
