Former Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have interacted quite frequently on WWE SmackDown in the weeks and months since WrestleMania 37.

The two were both feuding with Cesaro in the build-up to WrestleMania Backlash and 'The Messiah' has clearly got his eyes on Reigns' Universal Championship, telling Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville he was the obvious choice for a Title Match before Edge's return on SmackDown.

Reigns and Rollins have faced off a number of times in the past, albeit with Reigns in the babyface role, but the duo could be set for the next chapter in their storied history according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer suggested that WWE may book a feud between Rollins and Reigns after this year's SummerSlam. He noted that, with Rollins reportedly scheduled for a big match with Edge at the Biggest Party Of The Summer, it would make logical sense for Rollins to be Reigns' next challenger if he defeats 'The Rated-R Superstar'.

Meltzer said on the potential feud: "That would probably be September, if they even get to it by September, because the last I heard for SummerSlam was Edge vs Seth Rollins. So, you know if Seth Rollins were to beat Edge then it makes all the sense in the world to go with Seth vs Roman Reigns at that point."

Rollins' distraught reaction to Edge getting the Title Match at Money In The Bank has seemingly sown the seeds for their impending clash at SummerSlam.
