A note in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Rey Mysterio has signed a three-year deal to remain with WWE.

While discussing Jeff Hardy's new five-year deal with the company, Dave Meltzer wrote, "Jeff Hardy signed a new deal and the standard right now is five-years. While we don’t have that confirmed everyone with the exception of Mysterio (three years) and Lesnar pretty much has signed five year deals so that pretty much puts an end to the Hardys tag team."

Mysterio had become a free agent at some point earlier this year, but continued to appear for WWE while a new deal was hammered out. It's not clear when exactly the deal was signed.

Mysterio turns 46 this December, so if he serves this deal in full, the contract would expire when he's 48 years old.

The former three-time World champion has worked alongside son Dominik for much of the past year, as Dominik begins his own in-ring career. The elder Mysterio is currently sidelined with a torn triceps, and is expected to miss a couple of months.
