Over the weekend,

Tessa Blanchard tweeted:

"Hey women, try supporting one another. Cool things happen."

Following this, numerous women's wrestlers including Allysin Kay, La Rosa Negra and Chelsea Green alleged

that Blanchard had been a bully in the past and corroborated a story that while performing in Japan, the IMPACT World champion spat in Black Rose's face and used a racial slur towards her.

Blanchard's past behaviour may have also prevented her from being signed by WWE.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio

that despite being incredibly talented, Blanchard was not signed by the company because of "attitude issues." IMPACT Wrestling, however, were prepared to live with Blanchard's alleged attitude problems, which is how she ended up in the promotion.

Blanchard previously wrestled for WWE in 2016 on NXT. She competed in three matches against Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Carmella and lost all of them. She returned to the company in 2017 for the first Mae Young Classic but was defeated in the first round by Kairi Sane.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer said: "There’s a reason Tessa Blanchard has been in IMPACT and she's not in WWE, because Tessa Blanchard is, as pure talent, probably the most talented American female wrestler of all of them…She did not get a developmental deal there because of attitude issues and she ended up in IMPACT…The reason they knew they had her was because of the fact other people, as talented as she was and is, a lot of people wanted to steer clear of her for the reasons that came out and she had a lot of enemies…There's nobody in IMPACT who didn’t know those stories."
