Report: Next WWE NXT TakeOver Could Be Two-Night Event
The first-ever "two-night" NXT TakeOver?
Mar 5, 2021
WWE's next NXT TakeOver show, set for the week of WrestleMania 37, could reportedly be a two-night special.
With this year's WrestleMania once again taking place across two evenings, April 10 and April 11 at Raymond James Stadium, speculation had mounted that WWE's black-and-gold brand could be represented at the promotion's annual flagship event rather than having a TakeOver.
It has been revealed that WWE is in-fact planning an NXT TakeOver event for the week of WrestleMania 37, with PWInsider confirming with sources within the company that the show is scheduled for Thursday 8 April.
The report, however, goes on to suggest that WWE officials have internally discussed the possibility of having NXT TakeOver over two nights, similar to the plans for WrestleMania 37. Talks have taken place, with the idea that the first night of the April TakeOver event being shown in the usual NXT television slot on the USA Network, on Wednesday 7 April, before the second night is shown on the WWE Network on Thursday 8.
No final decision has been made but, whatever is determined, WWE fans are in for period of almost daily content from the promotion.
WWE will host two back-to-back nights of NXT, regardless of how they're presented, on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8, before Friday Night Smackdown on April 9. WrestleMania 37 will be presented on Saturday April 10 and Sunday April 11, before the Raw after WrestleMania on Monday 12.
Finally, NXT moves into its new television slot on the USA Network on Tuesday 13 April.
