NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo was scheduled to be at the 2019 Survivor Series as part of his brand's announce team.

However, he's absent from the event, with SmackDown announcer Michael Cole explaining on air that Ranallo blew his voice out during NXT TakeOver last night, but would return on Wednesday.

Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Weekly

reports that Ranallo's absence is actually due to critical tweets made toward him during TakeOver by SmackDown color commentator Corey Graves.

Dave Meltzer

has reported the same.

One of Graves' tweets seemed to indicate that fellow NXT broadcasters Nigel McGuinness and Beth Phoenix weren't getting much time to speak, as

he wrote

, "Just for the record guys. I know you wouldn't know it, but there's actually a WWE Hall of Famer AND a former Ring of Honor Champion on commentary. I'd imagine they have a lot to offer."

Some time in the hours following the event, Ranallo deleted his Twitter account.

Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Frank Shamrock, who is Ranallo's close friend and manager,

responded to Graves' tweet

with a graphic quoting Ice T that reads, "Social media has made too many of you comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the mouth for it."
