Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay went one-on-one in an instant classic at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 25 in their second encounter over the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

Both men looked to batter each other in the match and the contest featured a number of brutal spots, but the one that stood out to many was Ospreay decking Omega with a Tiger Driver '91, with Omega's head smashing into the mat. Ospreay would then follow up with the Hidden Blade and Stormbreaker to regain the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title.

Despite landing on his head following the move popularised by Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenny Omega was said to be "okay" after Forbidden Door, Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"For those wondering, I mean, the word is that Kenny is okay, but I don't know if he's been checked out. I dunno if he's gotten X-rays. I mean, there have been many, many times where guys have taken bumps. They have decided they're okay, and then it turns out that there's a break or something. I mean, I would have that checked out because that was, that was brutal. That tiger driver. Right on his head. Absolutely incredible," Alvarez said.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has since noted that Omega is okay, albeit a little sore following his long match with Ospreay. Fightful Select has also noted that Omega was telling people he was fine after the match ended and Will Ospreay also appears to have walked away from Forbidden Door unscathed.

Upon Ospreay and Omega returning backstage, they received a standing ovation and heavy praise from their peers.
