Thunder Rosa has seemingly garnered more heat within All Elite Wrestling.

Following Rosa's announcement that she would be unable to defend the AEW Women's World Championship due to injury, reports noted that La Mera Mera had heat in the promotion, primarily with Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter due to Rosa breaking Hayter's nose during their Battle Of The Belts match. Other talents, meanwhile, thought Rosa had developed an ego and could be difficult to work with.

Speculation suggested Rosa actually took time off because of this heat but multiple reports have confirmed the AEW Women's World Champion is dealing with a legitimate back injury.

This hasn't stopped Rosa from garnering more heat in AEW, though. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rosa's back injury is legitimate and she opted to take time off as she feared she would need surgery if she kept wrestling. As Rosa's announcement came after she was told she would be dropping the title to Toni Storm at All Out, however, divisions have only widened between many of the women in AEW and Rosa as her injury is considered an issue many would have worked through to drop the title.

From Rosa's side, Meltzer noted she is on a high-dollar, long-term deal and she is "not happy about any of this."

Rosa remains AEW Women's World Champion. Toni Storm was crowned the Interim AEW Women's World Champion at All Out on September 4 and they will go one-on-one in a unification match when La Mera Mera returns.
