Ring of Honor ended the year on a high, with a changing of the guard at Final Battle 2023, one year on from the last PPV of the ROH/Sinclair era before their self imposed hiatus and eventual buy-out by Tony Khan.

Khan has been effervescent when spouting ROH’s PPV successes under his watch, with Supercard of Honor and Death Before Dishonor breaking ROH PPV records, and a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter alleges that Final Battle 2022 did more than 25,000 PPV buys.

The numbers - based on first week estimates - alleged that Final Battle did 19,000 on streaming services, and around 6,400 on cable, with Khan saying first week estimates are ‘almost always’ low by five-to-10 percent due to things such as late buys.

These initial numbers are short of July’s Death Before Dishonor, which did in the region of 37,000 buys, but Meltzer still says this was still the biggest PPV number, largest crowd and largest gate for a Final Battle show in Ring of Honor history.
