Report: Brian Pillman Jr. Set To Be At Tonight's WWE NXT

Brian Pillman Jr's signing with WWE looks to be all but official.

According to PWInsider Elite, Pillman is scheduled to be at tonight's edition of WWE NXT at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This comes only days after Pillman lost to Kerry Morton at an independent wrestling show over the weekend. Morton stated after the match that Pillman is "going up to the big ball fields" and "has something special coming up in the foreseeable future."

Pillman was previously a part of All Elite Wrestling but he exited the promotion earlier this year when his contract wasn't renewed. He had a tryout at the WWE Performance Center in July and it emerged that Pillman had either already signed or was in the process of signing with the company.

Pillman will be one of WWE's first signings of 2023, with an unofficial hiring freeze having been in place for much of the year that has seen WWE miss out on the likes of Jay White and Trinity. It was recently noted that WWE would make signings "in special cases" until the merger with UFC is completed.
