Report: Backstage News On Future Of NJPW In The USA
What's next for NJPW STRONG?
Dec 13, 2022
Alongside their shows in Japan, New Japan Pro-Wrestling often host tapings in the United States with the NJPW STRONG division of the promotion composed of the likes of Fred Rosser, the Motor City Machine Guns, JR Kratos, West Coast Wrecking Crew, and several LA Dojo graduates.
STRONG does also feature talents from Japan sporadically, with NJPW sending talents across the Pacific, with the most recent wrestler being KENTA who won a Battle Royal to become the number one contender for the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship.
STRONG's close connection to NJPW proper could be set to change, though, with Voices of Wrestling reporting that a directive in the summer called for greater separation between the two divisions. NJPW have also called for the production quality of STRONG to be improved.
While it has not been confirmed, VOW speculated STRONG could end up on Honor Club. The streaming service began accepting new subscribers following Final Battle, with Tony Khan announcing that a weekly ROH product will air on the platform. He also strongly hinted NJPW would have a presence on Honor Club during the post-Final Battle press conference.
