Report: AEW's Sammy Guevara Pitched To Win IMPACT's X-Division Title
IMPACT weren't keen on the idea...

All Elite Wrestling's Sammy Guevara reportedly pitched to win the X-Division Championship during his scrapped involvement in the recent IMPACT Wrestling tapings.
Guevara was sent home after arriving for IMPACT Wrestling in Nashville, Tennessee, amid rumours that the 27-year-old was unhappy with the creative plans agreed for him between AEW and IMPACT.
Guevara's involvement on the AXS TV show was going to further develop his storyline split from The Inner Circle, but ended up reportedly causing friction between the two companies.
Dave Meltzer has now reported that, whatever those creative plans had been, they involved Guevara winning three televised matches, but The Spanish God upset IMPACT officials by suggesting he win the X-Division title but not actually lose the championship, instead seeing it held up in a tournament.
Writing in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer said: "We don’t know the details of the creative past he was going to win three matches at the tapings that just took place. Guevara suggested winning the X title. One story is that he wanted to win the title, and then return to AEW as having just won the title in Impact. He’d never lose it and it would go up in a tournament. Impact didn’t like that idea.
"Chris Jericho was the one who put the angle together with Don Callis. It made Jericho look bad to Impact because he and Callis came up with the idea and then Guevara didn’t want to do it. Scott D’Amore told Guevara that they didn’t need him when he arrived in Nashville if he doesn’t follow the plans that had already been agreed to.
"Impact was really mad about AEW sending talent over, them putting plans in place and then the talent wouldn’t do what was planned. Everything appears to be smoothed over now but there are those in Impact who said that the company was not happy at first with how it went down and could have impacted relationships. Guevara isn’t expected to be coming back here."
