Randy Orton says the 2006 WWE angle with Rey Mysterio, in which he uttered the infamous 'Eddie Guerrero is in hell' line, is the most uncomfortable he has ever been as a professional wrestler.

Orton and Mysterio feuded in early 2006 over the latter's Royal Rumble win, with Orton goading Mysterio into putting his WrestleMania 22 Title Match up for grabs against him by talking down about his recently deceased friend, Eddie Guerrero.

The Viper says that Mysterio himself had told him that Guerrero would have wanted to help develop their storyline if they can, with the duo even talking it over with Eddie's widow, Vickie, who also believed it was what her husband would have wanted.

Even with those blessings, Orton still feels uncertain about it to this day.

Speaking to Kurt Angle as a guest on The Kurt Angle Show, when asked how he felt about the storyline and using Eddie's death to get heat, Orton said: "100% not comfortable with it. Rey assured me that it’s something that Eddie would have wanted. Even still, Rey and myself went to Vickie, and Vickie gave us her blessing.

"She said the same thing, ‘Eddie would have wanted to help you guys in this manner. If he could have used his death in some way to help the business, as morbid as that sounds, he would have wanted us to do it, especially with Rey being involved.’

"So, although it was a horrible tragedy, and we all lost a friend, it was something that helped me along the way in my career. As a bad guy talking about that, that’s heat. It worked and it helped with the angle between me and Rey.

"But, looking back, it will always be something that was a little, there’s a lot of things I’ve done in my career that made me uncomfortable. I think we can all agree on that. But, that, in particular, was something that I put at the top of that list."
