At WrestleMania 36, Edge competed in his first one on one match in nine years as he faced off against his former friend Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match. The fight received mixed reviews as some fans said they enjoyed how the match was presented while others criticised its length as the bout clocked in at 36 minutes and 35 seconds, making it the second-longest match in WrestleMania history.

The two Superstars will seemingly go one on one again as The Viper challenged Edge to a normal singles match at the Backlash pay-per-view on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw. During his promo, Orton said Edge's grit doesn't come close to his natural ability inside the squared circle and Edge's passion won't do anything to stop the ring rust.

Despite previously challenging Orton to a much more violent match at WrestleMania 36, The Rated-R Superstar was reluctant to accept Randy's challenge and he didn't even say a word before the show went off the air.

What fans can expect from the continuation of the rivalry remains to be seen but Charly Caruso set lofty expectations as she said: "It may just be the greatest wrestling match ever."
