The injury troubles in both AEW & ROH have been piling up in recent weeks and months, with the likes of Eddie Kingston, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Julia Hart being put on the shelf. Another name that might be added to that last is a worrying one, as the reigning ROH Women’s World Champion Athena may have suffered an injury.

At the recent AEW & ROH tapings on May 16 (Collision & Rampage aired on May 18), Athena competed in a match at the ROH portion of the show against Viva Van. During the bout, it was noted in a report from PWInsider that Athena picked up a supposed leg injury. This happened in a spot where Athena took a bump through the ropes and tumbled onto the floor, limping when she got back to her feet. The match was very swiftly brought to an end in an awkward moment as Athena communicated to the referee to finish the match quickly.

It was reported that Athena remained in character but did not put weight on her left leg, being helped backstage by staff. Athena was then checked out backstage, but there are no updates currently on whether or not her injury is a serious one. Athena has been reigning for 525 days as the ROH Women’s World Champion as one of the faces of the brand.
