Paul Wight is dealing with a knee injury once again.

The former Big Show made his in-ring return on the November 15 edition of AEW Dynamite as he teamed with Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kota Ibushi to defeat the Don Callis Family and Brian Cage in the Like a Dragon Gaiden Street Fight. Wight's involvement in the match was limited as he briefly brawled on the entrance ramp and backstage before Powerhouse Hobbs powerslammed him onto a car.

Chris Jericho has now revealed that Wight actually worked the match injured and the former WWE Champion requires minor knee surgery.

"We wanted to focus on Show's positive -- I call him Show, you know what I mean, Paul Wight -- Paul had hurt his knee and has some issues where I think he has to get some of that cleaned out right now. The idea was to involve him, showing some of his strengths. Originally, he just wanted to be in the back, but I said, 'The people in the arena are going to want to see you.' He came out, beat some guys up, did some Paul Wight big chops and chokeslammed Fletcher through a table on the floor, which is huge. Him and Hobbs fight to the back and Hobbs ends up slamming him onto the roof of a car, which is insane, the bump that he took. It also continues to build Hobbs as a giant killer. That worked great, I think we did a great job with Show's presentation there," Jericho said on Talk is Jericho.

Wight has had issues with his knees for several years and he underwent knee replacement surgery in August 2022. The big man isn't expected to wrestle any time soon and it was noted on AEW TV following the Like a Dragon Gaiden Street Fight that Wight was out of action "indefinitely."
