Paul Heyman Says AEW's Christian Cage "Ran Away" From WWE To Avoid Being Targeted By Roman Reigns
Captain Charisma's exit enters the WrestleMania feud

The storyline between Roman Reigns, Edge and Daniel Bryan continued on last week's episode of SmackDown and The Rated-R Superstar will face off against Jey Uso to determine who will be the special enforcer in the Universal Title match at Fastlane.
Paul Heyman reflected on the latest turn of events on Talking Smack and during an impassioned promo on Edge, the special counsel to the Tribal Chief said Christian Cage "ran away" to avoid being targeted by Roman Reigns.
Heyman said: "Your best friend in this world knew he was going to become Roman Reigns' target just to get into your head and what did he do? He ran away before Roman Reigns could target him. How many of your Christians need to convert before you realise it's not smart to p*ss off Roman Reigns?"
Christian Cage, of course, debuted in All Elite Wrestling and signed a multi-year deal with the company at Revolution. He returned to the ring after almost seven years away at Royal Rumble 2021 but didn't make any further appearances on WWE TV before he jumped ship to AEW.
