Paige VanZant No Longer Training To Wrestle?

When AEW signed former UFC star Paige VanZant to a wrestling deal some saw it as a shrewd signing that would get the company cross-over appeal.

However, after making her in-ring debut at AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 in May, there’s been no sign of VanZant in AEW, with ‘12 Gage’s trainer Gangrel telling K&S WrestleFest that VanZant’s training has seemingly ground to a halt:

"Yes, I did [train VanZant] for a little while there. She did well; she didn't train as much as I would have liked for her to train, but I haven't seen her since that match," said Gangrel. "She did that match, she wrote me, and said, 'Hey, I'd like to go over the match with you and some critique.' And I said, 'Sure,' and that's the last I heard from her."

Gangrel continued: "She's an athlete. She could have been really, really good at it actually."

Since her appearance at Double or Nothing, VanZant was scheduled to fight Charis Sigala in August for the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship but was pulled from the bout at the last minute.
