Orange Cassidy felt the love at AEW All Out

All Out 2023 has gone down as one of the most critically revered All Elite Wrestling events for some time, with the fifth annual show closing out with a blood-spattered AEW International Championship match between Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley.
Moxley defeated Cassidy to end OC’s run with the belt, with the Chicago crowd giving Cassidy a standing ovation to applaud his recent work as AEW’s workhorse. The applause was not lost on Cassidy, who thanked the fans during an interview with Sports Illustrated:
“I always make it a point that we’re shown together [The Best Friends]. I wouldn’t have had that championship and I wouldn’t have been able to do what I did without Trent [Beretta], Chuck [Taylor], and Kris [Statlander]. We are legitimately best friends. Mentally and physically, we rely on each other. There have been times where I was so hurt I couldn’t lift my bag into an overhead compartment, and Chuck’s done it for me. Trent’s always there for me. Kris has literally carried me places. Without them, I’d never have been able to accomplish what I did,” said Cassidy on his post-match segment with his team mates.
Cassidy continued, “My trajectory through AEW is only because of the AEW fans. I appreciated the moment they gave me. They did that for me, but it wasn’t just for me. It was for them, too. They’re the reason I was covered in blood. I wrestle for them. They make our company run, and I don’t think we give enough credit for what they do.”
All Out 2023 was the first time Cassidy headlined a major AEW pay per view.
