AJ Styles will now defend his WWE Championship in a six-way bout at Fastlane on March 11th. The match was originally a triple threat, then a fatal five-way, before one further Superstar was added on tonight's SmackDown Live.

Styles' original two opponents were Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, with whom he has been feuding most recently. Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin were added to the bout after defeating Zayn and Owens respectively, but Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan weren't done changing up the match.

After announcing his intention to find a road to WrestleMania on Smackdown - having come up short in both the Royal Rumble and at Elimination Chamber - 'free agent' John Cena turned up on this week's SmackDown to earn his way into the Fastlane main event.

The winner will, of course, become WWE Champion, and will more than likely carry the title into WrestleMania. The smart money should remain on Styles for now, given the fact that Shinsuke Nakamura's Royal Rumble victory has set up the prospect of a mouthwatering clash between two of the best wrestlers on the planet.

The pair faced off at Wrestle Kingdom 10, with Nakamura defeating Styles in what would turn out to be the final NJPW match of either man's stint.

It's worth remembering that Cena also teased a confrontation with The Undertaker on last night's Raw, although he claimed (during an in-ring promo) that it simply isn't going to happen.

Despite this, it seems unlikely that WWE would dangle the possibility of Cena vs. 'Taker in front of us without following through.
