Following an episode of NWA Powerrr, commentator Jim Cornette was criticised for making a racist remark. During a non-title match between NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis and Trevor Murdoch, Cornette joked that Murdoch was "the only man I’ve ever known that could strap a bucket of fried chicken on his back and drive a motor scooter across Ethiopia."

Following the incident, Cornette resigned from the National Wrestling Alliance, citing that he did not receive enough support from NWA Vice President David Lagana.

On last night's episode of NWA Powerrr, World Champion Nick Aldis confirmed Stu Bennett would replace Cornette on commentary from the Into The Fire pay-per-view. Bennett will undoubtedly provide plenty of bad news.

Since leaving WWE in 2016, Bennett has gained experience as an announcer, having commentated on the rebooted World of Sport Wrestling. Bennett's most recent foray in professional wrestling was with Lucha Underground, where he debuted as The Lord during the season four finale.

The card for the Into the Fire pay-per-view was also finalised on last night's episode of Powerrr. The show will be broadcast live from GPB Studios in Atlanta, Georgia on December 14th. Fans can purchase the event from FITE.TV.

The full card is as follows:

  • The Rock “N” Roll Express (c) vs. The Wildcards – NWA World Tag Team Championships
  • Colt Cabana (c) vs. Aron Stevens vs. Ricky Starks – Triple Threat match for the NWA National Championship
  • ?Question Mark? vs. Trevor Murdoch
  • Allysin Kay & Ashley Vox vs. Melina & Thunder Rosa or Marti Belle
  • Ken Anderson vs. Eli Drake - #1 Contender's match for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship
  • Nick Aldis (c) vs. James Storm – Two Out Of Three Falls match for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship
