With the news last week of Ring Of Honor going into hiatus after Final Battle 2021, rumours of ROH’s future started swirling, with reports suggesting that ROH’s tape library post 2012 was for sale to ‘the highest bidder’.

Now, in an update from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, it seems that is not the case:

“Because there has been a lot of confusion on this subject, the company owns its tape library which has all the surviving footage dating back to its debut in 2002. There were people who believed the company only owned rights to post-2012 footage.

"The footage is also said to be not for sale at this time. Joe Koff denied the company was selling its tape library and sources at AEW, Impact and WWE have all said that there have been to the best of their knowledge no talks. When it comes to AEW and Impact, this comes from the top, and if the library was being sold, the top people in all three companies would have to know about it because they would be who one would first offer it to.”
