NJPW The New Beginning In Nagoya Results

Following Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Yokohama Arena, New Japan Pro-Wrestling turned their attention to the New Beginning tour with The New Beginning in Nagoya on Sunday, January 22.

The show served as a preview for upcoming New Beginning shows and was main evented by an MMA Rules clash between Shingo Takagi and Great-O-Khan for the KOPW 2023 Title. The match featured interference from both The United Empire and Los Ingobernables de Japon but after a long battle, it was Shingo Takagi who kept hold of the belt after he applied a Kata-Ha-Jime and O-Khan passed out.

After the match, Takagi invited Kazuchika Okada to the ring ahead of their IWGP World Heavyweight Title match at The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11. Shingo offered to make the bout a Title vs. Title match with the KOPW 2023 Championship also on the line, but Okada refused, noting he wasn't interested in winning the KOPW strap.
