After seven years away, Nigel McGuinness made his long awaited return to Ring of Honor at Supercard of Honor XVI, with the crowd erupting at the sight of the former Ring of Honor World Champion.

McGuinness returned during the Zero Hour pre-show, joining Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman on commentary, with Riccaboni teasing that a third name would be joining them earlier in the pre-show.

Taking to the commentary booth after soaking in the adulation of the crowd, McGuinness said that “like a good Les Kellett lariat, I always come back”.

It’s not been announced if this was just a one-night deal or if McGuinness has signed with Ring of Honor on a full-time deal.

First leaving ROH as an active competitor in 2009, McGuinness would leave ROH a second time in 2016 after serving as an on screen matchmaker and authority figure. A run in WWE’s commentary team followed, and after his release in 2022 many wondered if and when McGuinness would come home to ROH. Well tonight it finally looks like he’s made his way.
