Despite there being some talk in the build up to AEW All In about Nigel McGuinness potentially stepping foot back in the ring for the first time in 12 years, it looks as though the former Ring of Honor World Champion won’t be competing in front of 80,000 fans in Wembley Stadium.

As noted on Fightful Select, McGuinness spoke to WrestleTalk’s Tempest about his status for the historic show, revealing that he was in fact not going to be lacing up the boots and locking horns with other wrestlers inside the ring. He noted that due to his legendary Ring of Honor rival Bryan Danielson being injured and ruled out of the All In event, it contributed as a factor to him not making the steps towards a return for the show.

He didn’t necessarily close the door on in-ring competition, but did make sure to note that he believed he was now better suited behind the commentary desk - a role he has been in for several years now.
