Only hours after WrestleMania 39 had finished, WWE announced they had agreed to be sold to Endeavor and WWE and UFC will merge under a new parent company by the end of 2023. The new parent company will be headed by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, while Vince McMahon will be the Executive Chairman of the new organisation. Nick Khan, meanwhile, will become President of WWE.

A debate within UFC in recent years has revolved around fighter pay and Jake Paul tweeted after the merger was announced that it was a "great path to increasing fighter pay."

This prompted Nick Khan to be asked about Paul's tweet while speaking with LightShed Partners and the current WWE CEO stated he thinks wrestlers are "well compensated" after he noted how Dana White handles UFC is not a part of WWE.

"In terms of our performers, we think a lot of them are well compensated. Certainly, all talent wants to be paid more. Management wants to try and manage those costs. Each individual deal is unique in and of itself. We're confident with our position in the marketplace in terms of our WWE superstars. Depending on what the rights fees increases on the media right, we expect a lot of that to drop to the bottom line," Khan said.

WWE's top earners as of February 2022 were Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Randy Orton, with Reigns and Lesnar earning over $5 million per year. The next highest-paid talents were Edge, The Miz, and AJ Styles.
