Despite reports claiming that a Vince McMahon appearance at the Royal Rumble is under consideration, WWE CEO Nick Khan has said the 77-year-old won't be returning to the company's programming, at least for the moment.

"Not at this moment. No is the answer to that question. Could it change in a few months? Sure, it could change. But that would be Paul [Levesque] and Vince being on the same page about it. I don't see it right now," Khan said on the Bill Simmons Podcast.

Vince McMahon returned to WWE in early January, first electing himself, Michelle Wilson, and George Barrios to the Board of Directors before the restructured Board elected the 77-year-old as Executive Chairman. McMahon has also modified the company's bylaws to allow himself to make decisions for the company without shareholders' approval as he pursues a sale.

It has been repeatedly stated within WWE that Chief Content Officer Triple H retains the final say on creative matters but McMahon is reportedly already making suggestions.

McMahon was previously the head of creative along with his roles as CEO and Chairman until what turned out to be a brief retirement in July of 2022 amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. McMahon paid millions of dollars to multiple women between 2006 and 2022 to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity, among other payments that he failed to declare within the company's accounts. This prompted the SEC and federal prosecutors to open investigations into McMahon and they remain ongoing.
