Nia Jax's Bidet Offer & Sami Zayn's Brodie Lee Tribute: Ten Things You May Have Missed In Wrestling This Week
The stories, interactions and other things that may have slipped through MY HOLE...
Feb 12, 2021
Not a week goes by that there isn't some major, breaking wrestling news.
Wrestling is a, quite frankly, preposterous business that never takes a day off and, due to the nature of its very weirdness, will routinely produce captivating stories (at least outside of the ring).
While I'm sure we're all no doubt glued to our screens while this pesky pandemic rages on, that doesn't necessarily mean you're hearing or reading about absolutely everything that happens in the wacky world of wrestling.
Which is why we have started a new feature whereby we clue you in on some of the more obscure or otherwise under-reported things that have went down over the course of previous seven days.
It's something for you to look through while you're on your commute home...
Oh wait a second, I forgot. Nobody has a commute anymore, do they?
Oh well, you can still read it, perhaps while doing your morning constitutional. Which is apt, because there will almost certainly be a sizeable dose of toilet humour.
And it might be crap. We'll see.
So, without further ado, here are ten things you may have missed in wrestling this week...
You're not likely to go long without reading something about John Cena, with the recent updates on The Face That Runs The Place mostly to do with whether or not he's going to be able to appear at WrestleMania.
You don't, however, hear much about John Cena Senior (try saying that five times quickly after a few pints).
Most WWE fans will remember Cena's father from his various appearances on WWE television over the years, particularly during Cena's feud with Edge.
Cena Sr. is still a big wrestling fan, having worked as an announcer in the past, and will from time to time cause noise with comments he makes on podcasts.
His latest headline-grabbing statements concern how he would end Goldberg's in-ring career, telling Boston Wrestling MWF that:
I would think, if I’m gonna end Goldberg’s career, I would put him in there against The Fiend in a House Burning Match. I’m just using a gimmick. The house burns down and Goldberg’s in it. That takes care of his contract. He’s out, he’s done. I don’t think that [losing to Drew McIntyre at the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble] is a way to let a man of his stature, stamina, and professionalism go out. He’s a great guy, he really is.
Considering the sheer amount of attempted murder on WWE television in 2020 alone, I wouldn't put it past them.

2005's ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view was widely regarded as a triumph, a fantastic piece of nostalgia that encapsulated everything that made the Philadelphia-based promotion so popular in the first place.
The show kicked off with a scientific wrestling match between Canadian rivals (and former tag partners) Chris Jericho and Lance Storm.
Lionheart and the Impact Player set the tone for the evening with a fine bout that was won by Storm.
While critics were kind, Chris Jericho revealed during an exchange on Twitterthat he hasn't watched the match back over fifteen years later and, furthermore, felt 'insulted' at the time they were allotted and has 'never recovered'.
As laugh-a-minute Lance pointed out in response, the pair were given (just over) seven minutes.

Speaking of nostalgia...
The Bushwackers, everyone's favourite arm-swinging and face-licking tag team from yesteryear announced that they are going to be making an in-ring comeback.
Despite having a combined aged of 150, Luke and Butch plan on wrestling as a team after twenty years apart.
The duo - who were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 - sent out a note to promoters informing them that they will be taking bookings for 2021 only.
The release noted that they are able to be booked for 'any wrestling or non-wrestling related events, Meet & Greets, Virtual Meet & Greets, seminars, online seminars, wrestling seminars, promote your business or product, conventions, commercials, special appearances and any other activities'.
'Any other activities' seems pretty vague and gives me an idea, since I've been looking for the right men to redo my kitchen.
If you have a sibling, odds are you've spent plenty of time taking the piss out of them.
Not that your writer would ever try to embarrass his brother, of course.
Which reminds me, actually - Stephen, if you're reading this, I got rid of those giant boxes of nudie magazines, just like you asked.
WWE star Dolph Ziggler is clearly happy to poke fun at his little brother, wrestler Ryan Nemeth, who currently works for AEW.
Nemeth was soundly defeated by PAC on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, being forced to submit in just a few short minutes while registering no offense.
The manner of the loss clearly tickled The Showoff, who simply Tweeted a picture of The Bastard choking out his flesh and blood.
Ziggler later made his brother's suffering his Twitter profile picture.
Something that contributed to the success of the Attitude Era that really shouldn't be overlooked is the impact that Mike Tyson had in early 1998.
The Baddest Man on the Planet was on hand to play a role in the Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels feud and did much to get WWE lots of mainstream publicity ahead of their biggest show of the year.
But getting Iron Mike on board wasn't the easiest task. He was a fan and wanted to do it, but he was expensive was having money issues, forcing WWE to pull out all the stops.
That included Shane McMahon buying Tyson a brand new motorcycle, according to Jim Ross on a recent episode of Grilling JR.
Shane was enlisted to act as Tyson's concierge and, when he decided that he wanted a new set of wheels, the boss's son coughed up the cash.
Per JR:
"I think during his time, Tyson wanted a motorcycle, I have no idea why, and Shane bought him a motorcycle.
WWE tried to take care of Mike at every turn of the road and Mike needed money at that point in timeThe McMahon family took care of him and it worked out. It was a good investment quite frankly because it paid off at the end of the day".
Cheaper than a tiger, I guess.
All anyone was talking about at the end of Monday Night Raw was Nia Jax's hole.
The WWE superstar went viral after yelling 'my hole' following a missed legdrop in her Table Match with Lana.
Jax lost the match but stole the show with her unusual outburst.
According to Wrestling Inc., Brooklyn-based bidet company TUSHY reached out to The Irresistible Force and offered her not only one of their products, but also the opportunity to be a brand ambassador for the company.
Whether this would go against WWE's third-party policy is unknown, but one thing is for sure; it's really, really weird.
Jax's line was subsequently removed from Raw replays and on the company's social media channels.
There has yet to be an update on the condition of Jax's 'hole'.
The wrestling world is still reeling from the death of Jonathan Huber, who performed as Luke Harper in WWE and as Brodie Lee in AEW before his tragic passing on December 26, 2020 at the age of 41.
His friends and former colleagues have continued to pay tribute to a man who was clearly beloved by all.
One of Brodie's closest friends, Sami Zayn, disclosed on Twitterthat he has no plans on removing Lee from his fantasy hockey league.
Not only that, but Zayn renamed the league in his friend's honour and will auto-draft his team and set up the lineup every week.
Hilariously, Brodie's team is 'trouncing' Zayn's this week, leading the former Intercontinental Champion to remark that he could 'only imagine the sh*t he’d be talking right now'.
Okay, so this actually happened on February the fourth and does, technically, fall outside of the time period we're covering.
But if you're going to break the rules you might as well do it on the first try, right?
Besides, this is simply too funny not to include.
Following KENTA's shocking appearance at the conclusion of last week's episode of AEW Dynamite, the New Japan Pro Wrestling star's Bullet Club teammate Tweeted instructions to also 'slap up' Kenny 'Oshega' (a reference to a Canadian music festival), 'the middle aged Bucks', 'Festus' and 'other smaller Festus'.
Obviously, Tama was referring to former New Japan stars and current AEW and Impact Wrestling performers Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Good Brothers Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson.
From now on The Machine Gun must only be referred to as 'other smaller Festus'.
Apparently there was some big sports event called the 'Superbowl' this past weekend.
Who knew?
As well as receiving shiny Superbowl rings, winners the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also earned their first custom WWE Championship belt.
WWE have been presenting sporting champions with custom copies of their title belt for the best part of a decade, first presenting the World Series-winning Boston Red Sox with their own strap in 2013.
According to WWE executive Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, idea to give sporting champions their own championship was inspired by the celebration of 2011 Superbowl champion and MVP Aaron Rodgers, who pantomimed strapping on a title belt after scoring a touchdown.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback had a replica of the old World Heavyweight Championship (AKA the Big Gold Belt) draped over his shoulder while collecting his award in 2011.
Per The Game, the title belts they give teams take several weeks and cost thousands of dollars to make.
When the official WWE Twitter account asked fans to pick the best spinebuster, accompanied by video clips of eight stars hitting the move, a few eyebrows were raised.
Arn Anderson, who to many possess one of if not the best spinebuster ever, was not among the eight options fans could choose.
The Enforcer previously worked for WWE as a backstage producer/road agent between 2001 and 2019, but now works for All Elite Wrestling (where he is also an on-screen character).
The snub caused Anderson's name to trend in the United States, with the man himself (via his The Arn Show podcast account) commenting 'Huh. Seems like someone's missing' accompanied by a gif of him performing the move on Hulk Hogan in WCW.
Current WWE Superstar Xavier Woods replied to WWE's tweet with 'I know it's all personal preference but I think I land on Simmons/Anderson on this one'.
That prompted Double A to remark that the New Day member was 'wise beyond' his years.
