A new tag team has formed on WWE SmackDown, but their official formation was cut from the February 9 broadcast.

In a segment later aired on WWE’s social media channels, former Hit Row member Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis and former Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander officially formed an alliance, calling out the entire tag division.

The two called out Pretty Deadly, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Balor and Damian Priest, and The OC by name, with the personas of Adonis and Alexander clashing, teasing the pair as ‘the original odd couple’. Adonis then suggested a team name of Rags & Riches, before adding that he’ll help Alexander find a new style.

Per a post from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp on X/Twitter, the video package was originally slated to air during SmackDown but was cut for unknown reasons, with SEScoops suggesting the vignette was cut due to time constraints.

The new teaming will mean Alexander features on WWE TV for the first time since November 2023, whilst Adonis has not featured on TV since July 2023. The two have teamed together before, defeating Pretty Deadly in a dark match ahead of the December 8 2023 edition of SmackDown.
