MJF Retains AEW World Title At All In
MJF outlasts his best friend in the main event
Aug 27, 2023
MJF defeated Adam Cole to retain the AEW World title in the main event of All In on Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London.
MJF pinned Cole with an inside cradle, after Cole balked at hitting MJF with the World title belt that was provided to him by an interfering Roderick Strong. Referee Bryce Remsburg was unconscious when Strong hit the ring and kicked MJF in the groin. Cole then hit the Panama Sunrise and Boom, but only got a count of two off of it after Remsburg recovered.
After the match, MJF tried to cheer a distraught Cole up, but Cole threw out the ROH Tag belts they'd won earlier in the night. Upset at Cole's actions, MJF threw the World title at Cole in anger, accused him of only caring about the belt, and turned around, giving Cole a chance to strike him with the belt. When Strong came back to implore Cole to do it, Cole dropped the belt and chose to instead hug MJF to end the show, beneath a hail of confetti and pyro.
MJF's 281-day reign as AEW World champion continues. He won the belt from Jon Moxley on November 19, 2022 at Full Gear in Newark.
