During AEW's post-Double or Nothing press conference, MJF addressed the fact that he didn't main event the show despite being AEW World Champion, stating:

"Why the f*** would I want to roll around in Jon Moxley’s blood? I’m f***ing good. No thanks. Also, realistically, whether it’s this company or WWE, the World title ‘having to go on last,’ kind of is dead in wrestling.

"I’d rather not run around in all that 'mid' blood. It’s f***ing disgusting. Wheeler Yuta was in that match; you think I want roll around in Wheeler Yuta blood? [...] Did he not bleed? Wow, congrats."

MJF was speaking after retaining the AEW World Championship in a four-way match against Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara and Jack Perry. The main event saw AEW's second ever 'Anarchy in the Arena' match, pitting the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) against The Elite (Kenny Omega, 'Hangman' Adam Page and the Young Bucks.)

MJF's title defence was the penultimate match of the night, and went a very similar time to the main event, with both clocking in at around 27 minutes.
