WWE’s Hall of Fame is a divisive affair amongst fans. Part celebration of wrestling’s past, part WWE saying thank you to some of the most storied performers in wrestling history, the list of inductees has raised eyebrows over time, with some ‘worthy’ names omitted while ‘less worthy’ names are thrown in without a second thought.

Among the more notable names absent from the HOF is Big Van Vader. A former WCW World Champion, AJPW Triple Crown Champion, and IWGP Heavyweight Champion, The Mastodon is one of the most feared and celebrated big men in wrestling history, and Mick Foley thinks he is overdue a spot in the HOF.

Appearing on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, Foley said:

“Leon [White], to me, is one of the glaring omissions from the Hall of Fame, worldwide he was one of the biggest drawing cards, bigger than me, for sure. Not in WWE but worldwide, for sure. But if you didn’t fight him back, he’d eat you up. He was that wall, and you can knock down that wall but he was gonna make you work for it.”

Foley and Vader memorably clashed in WCW, with Foley losing an ear during one of their bouts.
