Kevin Owens Returns To WWE Raw After Brief Hiatus
The Prizefighter is back...
Jul 7, 2020
Kevin Owens last appeared on Monday Night Raw on June 15 when he defeated Angel Garza after five minutes. The Prizefighter had been embroiled in the United States Championship picture after he returned from injury on May 18 but was unable to capture the title from either Andrade or Apollo Crews.
KO decided to take a brief hiatus from the company on June 17 after a developmental talent tested positive for coronavirus. WWE reportedly had no issue with Owens going home and he wasn't pressured about appearing at future tapings.
The former Universal Champion returned to the red brand last night for another edition of The Kevin Owens Show. He invited his guest Seth Rollins to the ring and the two Superstars rekindled their rivalry from WrestleMania 36 as KO reminded The Monday Night Messiah that he lost at The Showcase Of The Immortals, while Rollins asked how Owens' ankle was. Seth then challenged Rey Mysterio to a match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules and Kevin inserted himself into the feud as he teamed with The Master Of The 619 against Rollins and Murphy.
Why the three-time United States Champion decided to return at last week's tapings is currently unknown but WWE has recently introduced new measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Face masks are now compulsory at TV tapings and anyone not wearing one will be fined $500 for their first offence and $1000 for their second. The company has also started taping Raw and SmackDown on separate days to reduce the number of people backstage at the WWE Performance Center.
