Kenny Omega has opened up about the backstage fight he and The Young Bucks had with CM Punk and Ace Steel following All Out in September 2022, noting The Elite have moved on before he wished the "other parties" well.

The fight was the culmination of months of backstage issues within All Elite Wrestling that began with Tony Khan's initial decision to not renew Colt Cabana's AEW contract in early 2022. Omega was gone from AEW for much of the year, though, due to various injuries and he wasn't backstage often between November 2021 and August 2022.

The former AEW World Champion noted on The Sessions with Renee Paquette that he felt AEW was in a really good place when he stepped away, only to come back to what he described as the Donald Glover GIF when the room is on fire.

"I didn't get it. I was like, 'What is with this strange atmosphere? What is with this strange aura? Why does something feel so ominous right now?' I didn't know and couldn't figure it out. Next you knew, there was more stuff happening," Omega said.

Omega then noted that "stranger things started happening" before "things fell off the rails. We were just involved in a very silly situation that people are probably going to be talking about for months and possibly years to come."

All five men were suspended by AEW following 'Brawl Out' and The Elite have since returned. Ace Steel was fired and CM Punk remains away from the promotion while he recovers from a triceps injury. If Punk will be back is unknown but some have advocated for his return.
