Andrade El Idolo may be AEW’s newest high profile recruit, but that hasn’t stopped him eyeing up the companies’ top prize - the AEW World Championship.

That title is currently around the waist of the belt collector Kenny Omega, whom Andrade is already set to face for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania 29 on August 24, but Omega isn’t letting El Idolo anywhere near his AEW Title, just yet.

Taking to Twitter, Omega dismissed Andrade’s desire for a title shot, saying:

“I checked the win/loss record. He ain’t even close. Wins and losses count here, brah.

Andrade joined AEW as a surprise earlier this month, debuting on the June 4 edition of Dynamite, but is yet to wrestle for the promotion.

Omega is set to defend the AEW World Championship against Jungle Boy on the June 30 edition of AEW: Dynamite, with Jungle Boy earning his opportunity by winning the Casino Battle Royale at AEW Double Or Nothing on May 30.
