Pro Wrestling NOAH have announced that long-time star Katsuhiko Nakajima is set to depart the promotion, with Nakajima set to wrestle in a NOAH ring for the last time on October 28.

Widely considered one of the best and most hard-hitting wrestlers on the planet, Nakajima has been a mainstay of NOAH since joining in 2005, having held gold across the promotion.

When asked about his decision to leave NOAH by PKDX, Nakajima said the following:

“In the 20th year of my career, at the age of 35, I wanted to challenge myself. In this double milestone year, I wanted to test myself and see how far I could go. Nothing concrete has been decided about my future… When I told the company about it, they gladly gave me their support. I love NOAH, so I have nothing but gratitude to the company,” said Nakajima.

A former two-time GHC Heavyweight Champion, Nakajima has been wrestling since he was 14-years-old, with Nakajima soon taken under the wing of Kensuke Sasaki. Throughout his career, he has competed and held championship gold across all of Japan’s ‘big three’ promotions.
