JONAH has admitted he wishes he had got the chance to be a heel during his time in WWE.

The former Bronson Reed was released from WWE in early August and has since gone on to perform for IMPACT Wrestling and NJPW. JONAH had reportedly been expected to join the WWE main roster after his run in NXT, but was instead cut after a Main Event bout and a dark match.

The former North American Champion wishes he'd had the opportunity to discuss his character in the company with the creative team as he wanted the opportunity to be a heel, something he is now exploring in IMPACT.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, JONAH said: "I’ve had a lot of people within the business, from RAW and Smackdown, friends that have told me ‘you can’t take this personally, it’s just a business decision and if you think about it for too long you’re going to question everything.’

"I can’t see any other reason than they didn’t see me fitting in whatever mold they want for RAW and Smackdown. I thought that if I didn’t go to RAW or Smackdown I’d be back on the black and gold brand. but I didn’t know that was all being changed. They didn’t see me fitting in on any of their rosters and that was why, I’ve always told everyone that I have ever spoken to that not only can I fit into any roster in the world, I can fit into any timeframe. Jonah can wrestle in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, I am the kinda talent that can be placed anywhere.

"With the main roster they got to see me in a dark match and then a really short Main Event match and I guess that’s what they went off of. I would have loved to be able to talk about creative because the one thing that I always wanted to do in NXT and possibly the main roster was be a heel, but they didn’t get to see that side of me. No one in WWE got to see that side of me."
