Following Wrestling Dontaku on Wednesday, May 3, New Japan Pro-Wrestling have announced several major matches for Dominion, which will emanate from Osaka-Jo Hall on June 4.

It was revealed at Wrestling Dontaku that Jon Moxley will return to Japan for the first time in three years after Shota Umino interrupted Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Tomohiro Ishii following their NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Title win. It was hinted that Shooter will team with his mentor Moxley and a third partner at Dominion, with Okada shouting "f*ck you!" at Umino following the interruption. Who Moxley and Umino's partner will be has not been announced but New Japan hinted more will be revealed during Moxley's appearance at Resurgence on May 21.

In the main event of Dominion, SANADA will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Yota Tsuji. The former Young Lion returned to New Japan at Wrestling Dontaku and was revealed as the man behind the recent apocalyptic vignettes. He interrupted SANADA's post-match celebrations and took out all of the members of Just Five Guys before Tsuji stood tall with the IWGP World Heavyweight Title to end the May 3 show.

David Finlay will also defend the NEVER Openweight Championship for the first time against former Bullet Club member El Phantasmo. Finlay defeated Tama Tonga in decisive fashion to win the gold at Wrestling Dontaku but he couldn't revel in his win as El Phantasmo returned and took out the new leader of Bullet Club. Finlay recently kicked ELP out of Bullet Club after Phantasmo refused to accept him as the new leader of the faction.

In a rematch from Wrestling Dontaku, Zack Sabre Jr. will defend the NJPW World TV Title against Jeff Cobb. Their match on May 3 went to a 15-minute time-limit draw and neither man was happy about the outcome. Aussie Open will also put the IWGP Tag Team Championships on the line against former champions Bishamon and House of Torture's EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi.

Already announced for Dominion is the final of the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title number one contender's tournament. Lance Archer will face the winner of Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Will Ospreay from Resurgence to determine who will face Kenny Omega, likely at Forbidden Door 2 on June 25.
