Rikishi found himself in headlines over the last week following comments made about Jey Uso’s booking, showing unhappiness in how his son has been handled amidst his immense popularity amongst the WWE Universe. The WWE Hall Of Famer pondered over why WWE hadn’t crowned Jey Uso as a champion yet, and also took issue with his obsession with Rhea Ripley on WWE programming, asking if WWE were trying to break up his son’s marriage.

Jey Uso himself has responded to these remarks by his father, shrugging them off but also showing respect to the legend. Uso spoke on The Ringer Wrestling Show about this.

“(Rikishi) just said what he said out there about my creative. It’s an opinion, yeah, but I’m like, ‘Dad, just watch the show. It’s okay, let me work. Let me go out and work, enjoy the show, make your rap track. That’s pops, though, that’s my dad so shoutout to my dad.”

Jey Uso last challenged for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Backlash France premium live event, but came up short in winning his first singles title in WWE.
