For the first time in three years, Jay White holds the top prize in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

The Switchblade challenged Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at today's Dominion show from Osaka Jo-Hall. The champion looked to have the match won down the stretch after he connected with a Sit-Out Tombstone but as Okada went for the Rainmaker, White suddenly countered into a Blade Runner from out of nowhere. The leader of Bullet Club then covered Okada for the 1-2-3 to become the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

White's win comes only one month after he returned to Japan and took out Okada at Wrestling Dontaku, having spent the previous year performing in the United States on NJPW STRONG, IMPACT Wrestling, and once in All Elite Wrestling.

Following his victory, White immediately turned his attention to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, telling Hangman Page he could face Okada at the show because The Anxious Millenial Cowboy won't be getting a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Page challenged Okada to an IWGP title match at Forbidden Door on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite before he was interrupted by Adam Cole. Who exactly Switchblade will face at the June 26 pay-per-view remains to be seen.

With his loss today, Kazuchika Okada's first reign as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion comes to an end after 159 days. The Rainmaker captured the gold on January 4 at Wrestle Kingdom 16 night one and he successfully defended the title against Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr., and Tetsuya Naito.
